GLORIA GRIMOLDI
I’m Gloria, an artist based in Muriwai, Aotearoa New Zealand. I live surrounded by native forest and ocean, and nature is where most of my inspiration comes from. The birds, plants, and quiet energy of this place naturally find their way into my work.
My paintings are very tactile and layered. I love working with texture and building surfaces that feel alive — almost like you could touch them. For me, painting is a way to slow down and reconnect with nature, not just by looking at it, but by feeling its presence.
I often focus on native birds and botanical elements, translating what I see around me into simple, contemporary forms. What you’ll see in my work is a mix of observation, material, and emotion — something honest, grounded, and close to the environment I live in every day.
